Description

The Chroma P10 Type 301 5” Tomato Knife is very similar to the blade of a bread knife.  Like a bread knife, the tomato knife has teeth, but the tomato knife has finer serrations. This knife also has teeth on the tip of the knife to pick up cut foods like pieces of tomatoes.

For the blade of the 12cm knife Chroma used high-quality Japanese 301 steel. This steel is blended with stainless steel used to create the handle. Separating the handle from the blade is a metal “pearl”. This “pearl” also gives you better control while you are cutting. This particular knife handle design is complements of J.A. Porsche and chef of the decade, Jörg Wörther.

Chroma Type 301 Knives must be hand washed after every use.  Never place these knives in the dishwasher, as it could damage and dull the blade.  A dull knife blade is the single most common cause of knife related injury in the kitchen.  Type 301 Knives should only be sharpened using the original Type 301 whetstone.  Using a sharpening steel could damage the blade.  To help maintain the edge of your knife only use wooden or plastic cutting boards.  It is recommended that Type 301 knives be sharpened daily when used in a professional setting, and about every six months for hobby cooks.
