The Chroma P29 Type 301 Asian Knife Set contains two very popular kitchen knives. This set includes P02 7.25″ Santoku Knife and P09 3.25″ Paring Knife.
The Chroma 18.8cm Santoku knife is useful for chopping vegetables, cutting up meat, crushing garlic, and many other tasks in the kitchen. The wide blade can let you scoop up chopped foods and transfer them to other dishes.
For tasks that are too small for the Santoku knife, the 7.7cm paring knife can handle the job. The short blade of the knife is easier to wield and can make more intricate cuts. It is also easier to wield as you cut off skins of fruits and vegetables.
Chroma Type 301 Knives must be hand washed after every use. Never place these knives in the dishwasher, as it could damage and dull the blade. A dull knife blade is the single most common cause of knife related injury in the kitchen. Type 301 Knives should only be sharpened using the original Type 301 whetstone. Using a sharpening steel could damage the blade. To help maintain the edge of your knife only use wooden or plastic cutting boards. It is recommended that Type 301 knives be sharpened daily when used in a professional setting, and about every six months for hobby cooks.
