Rathbun Test Kitchen. A private culinary group run by Tracy and me, with hands-on classes, master classes and first notice on tastings and events.
Private cooking classes. One-on-one in your home or with a group, for friends or a corporate team.
Private events. Family parties, company gatherings and celebrations, catered by my team. I have been catering in Dallas since 1990.
Worldwide culinary tours. Travel with me to discover new cultures and their food. Past trips have included Japan, Thailand, Istanbul, Italy, South Africa and California wine country.
Why These Culinary Experiences Are Different
I have worked in restaurants for more than 50 years. My first job was at 14, at a Sambo’s in Kansas City. At 17 I apprenticed at La Bonne Auberge. Since 1990 I have built restaurants in Dallas, including Abacus and Jasper’s, and led more than 30 restaurant concepts.
Tracy and I started Rathbun Test Kitchen to give our longtime guests a closer seat. In the Savory Studio you sit next to me in the kitchen. In the Master Class you plan, prepare and present a meal yourself.
My love of travel and Asian food goes back years. I made annual trips to Bangkok with the Dusit Thani Hotel to teach their chefs and to learn Thai cooking. Our culinary tours share that same curiosity.
